Khatu Shyam Ji is worshipped as the embodiment of devotion, sacrifice and surrender. Known in the Mahabharata as Barbarika, he offered his head before the great war, symbolizing complete faith in Lord Krishna.
Barbarika, grandson of Bhima, possessed immense power and three divine arrows. Before the Mahabharata war, Lord Krishna tested his resolve. In surrender, Barbarika offered his head in devotion. Pleased, Krishna granted him a boon — he would be worshipped in Kalyug as Shyam.
In Kalyug, Shyam Baba is lovingly remembered as "Haare Ka Sahara" — the support of the helpless. Devotees visit Khatu with gratitude and surrender, finding emotional strength and inner peace.
Wearing a pendant is not about display. It is about remembrance. A reminder of humility. A reminder of surrender. A reminder that grace exists.
